Davido, a prominent Nigerian afrobeats artist, expressed his excitement at the prospect of winning a Grammy award. However, he emphasized that his latest album, ‘Timeless,’ was not created with the sole intention of winning accolades. Davido shared these sentiments during a recent interview with Brut.
As a predominantly digital artist, Davido explained that his collaboration with The Cavemen and Grammy-award-winning Beninese legend Angélique Kidjo on the track ‘Na Money’ required a different approach. While he usually records music digitally, he had to record this particular song live due to The Cavemen’s preference for live recording.
Davido clarified that while winning a Grammy would bring him joy, it was not the driving force behind the creation of his album ‘Timeless.’ His primary goal was to create music that resonated with him personally, capturing a sense of happiness and authenticity throughout the creative process.
