Remember Joey Akan, the music journalist who dragged M.I Abaga on Twitter, guess what, he is back with another interesting story you all would like to hear. The Nigerian versatile music journalist Joey Akan digged out a shocking revelation about the formerly signed artists and their then label, Chocolate City.
Literally, it is said that when a record label offers you a contract, legal advisory is now an obligation to the signed artists. Shockingly, Joey Akan who interviewed Jesse Jagz for his ‘Afrobeats Intelligence Podcast‘; M.I, Ice Prince and Jesse Jagz revealed that they had no lawyer at the time they were signed to Chocolate City.
However, Joey revealed that the person who drafted, reviewed and gave them the contracts to sign as their legal representative at the time was none other than Audu Maikori who was the Chief Executive Officer at Chocolate City while the contract was being signed.
See Joey Akan’s Tweet Below:
When the M.I, Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince were signed to Chocolate City, they had no lawyer.
Guess who drafted, reviewed the contract and gave it to them to sign as their representative? Audu Maikori, who was also the CEO of Chocolate City.
A music industry double jeopardy.
