Davido, the acclaimed Nigerian singer whose real name is David Adeleke, has shared the story of how his wife, Chioma Rowland, initially rejected his romantic advances.
During a conversation with vlogger Tayo Aina, Davido revealed that he first met Chioma while they were both students at Babcock University in Osun State. He described it as love at first sight, explaining that as soon as he laid eyes on her, he asked one of his aides to approach her. However, Chioma declined the invitation.
Davido reminisced, saying, “I was in a Prado, and I looked behind and I saw this girl walking. Just there with her bag, it was Chioma. I told Lati omo, I like that girl, go and call that girl for me. He called her, but she did not answer me at the time.”
Nevertheless, Davido mentioned that Chioma eventually came to Lagos, and they reconnected. Shortly after, the couple got married following the tragic loss of their son, Ifeanyi, who drowned in a swimming pool at Davido’s Banana Island mansion last year.
