Biola Adebayo, a popular Yoruba Nollywood actress, has revealed the reason she decided to marry her husband after only six months of dating. In a video on her YouTube channel, she shared her love story and explained that she and her husband had several similarities.
According to Adebayo, her first consideration in a partner was someone who is a Christian and willing to live in Nigeria. She emphasized that she was not desperate to get married and turned down many marriage proposals from abroad because she did not want to leave Nigeria.
She said, “I realized that we had a lot of things in common. Me and my husband did not court for too long. We got married in less than six months (after we started dating). That was because I knew what I wanted.”
Adebayo further explained, “I was looking for a believer (Christian). That was the utmost for me. I was looking for somebody that lived in Nigeria and was not ready to relocate. I got a lot of advances from guys abroad, but I did not want to leave Nigeria. My former husband lived abroad. I can speak Hausa, and my husband can speak the language too. We have many things in common.”
She also mentioned that she was never desperate for marriage but was patiently waiting for the right person. She believed that God would bring the right person at the right time, so she was not bothered about the timing.
