Nigerian Vocal street artist Habib Okikiola professionally known as Portable is released on bail in police custody after interrogation over alleged assault.
The singer who turned himself in after the Ogun State Police Command declared him wanted.
The Zazuh crooner who was reportedly to be involved in an accident which lead to the death of a motorcyclist and allegedly assaulted someone in Ogun State on 29th June 2022 turns himself in to the Ogun State Police Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Portable was accompanied by his manager and dearly father when he arrived.
The police commissioner, CP Lanre Bankole, promptly transferred the musician to the public complaint bureau office for questioning. The singer was later released on the condition that he be made accessible whenever necessary.
Since the offence committed is a bailable one, and coupled with the strike action embarked upon by the civil servants in the state which also affected the courts, the suspect was released to a reliable surety who promised to produce him anytime he is needed,” says police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi.
“Meanwhile, the assaulted victim has also been invited to come and state his own side of the story to enable the command to complete her investigation on time”, Mr Oyeyemi said.
