Seun Kuti, the Nigerian musician and son of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has claimed that popular blogger Tunde Ednut wanted him to be imprisoned when he was arrested by the police.
Seun Kuti was recently arraigned before a Lagos State magistrate’s court and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Yaba, for allegedly assaulting a police officer. After spending several days in detention, he was eventually released.
During an Instagram live session on Tuesday, Seun Kuti revealed that Tunde Ednut, a celebrity blogger, wanted him to go to jail because he owed Seun money for nine promotional posts. Seun alleged that Tunde Ednut actively pushed for him to be sent to prison because he couldn’t repay the debt.
Seun said, “I hear everybody saying Tunde did not like me. Tunde actually is the only blogger I talk to in Nigeria and also has my number. And do you know why he wants me to go to jail? Because Tunde owes me money. He was supposed to do 10 posts for me since two years ago but he only did one, and he knew that my new project would soon be out. He must do those posts. In fact, it has increased to twenty posts. So because of those nine posts, he wants to do to me what Sacoche did to Gaddafi.”
It’s important to note that these are allegations made by Seun Kuti during the Instagram live session, and the veracity of these claims cannot be independently confirmed.
