Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, the renowned Nigerian comedian and content creator popularly known as Sabinus, recently shared his perspective on why he abstains from promoting nudity in his skits. During the SMFest held in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, Sabinus emphasized his commitment to creating family-friendly content.
Sabinus revealed that he has encountered situations where individuals expressed their eagerness to join his comedy group and were willing to do anything. However, he firmly stands against such approaches, opting instead to assign specific roles to maintain the integrity of his content. He recounted an incident where a girl objected to tying a wrapper, expressing her expectation for a different portrayal. Undeterred, Sabinus explained to her that his storytelling requires authenticity, even if it means not showcasing explicit body parts.
For Sabinus, creating content that resonates with a wide audience, particularly families, takes precedence over utilizing nudity for cheap laughs or shock value. While he acknowledges the occasional need for attractive individuals in his skits, he maintains that their physical appearance should not rely on revealing outfits or explicit displays.
By adhering to his principle of crafting family-oriented content, Sabinus aims to cater to diverse viewers and maintain a positive influence. His stance showcases his commitment to responsible comedy and serves as a reminder that entertainment can be both humorous and inclusive without resorting to gratuitous nudity.
