Popular content creators, Happie Boys, who have been incarcerated in a prison in Cyprus, are reportedly on the verge of being released and deported within the next 30 days.
The duo, Kelechi and Johnson, had been arrested a few weeks ago on suspicion of being involved in fraudulent activities.
In a recent development, a friend who had once hosted Happie Boys after their arrival in Cyprus disclosed that their fate in the country is now sealed, and they are to be deported back to Nigeria.
In a leaked chat, the friend explained that Happie Boys were arrested because they did not possess student permits, primarily due to their inability to pay their school fees. He further mentioned that all attempts to secure help for them had failed, partly due to their history of calling out individuals on social media.
“Happie boys haven’t been released yet, my bro… before they can be released, all the fees they owe must be paid so they can obtain their student permits and regain their freedom. Apart from that, bro, after about 30 days, they’ll be deported back to Nigeria from inside the prison. They were apprehended mainly because they do not have student permits, which is a result of unpaid school fees,” the chat revealed.
