Nigerian musician David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed his happiness after being awarded a national honor by the Federal Government. The Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs listed Davido as one of the recipients of the 2023 national honors, alongside 339 other prominent Nigerians.
Taking to his Twitter account on Wednesday, Davido shared his gratitude for the recognition. He wrote, “I am deeply honored to receive the news that I have been conferred with the Officer of the Order of Nigeria (OON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria. I am truly grateful for this recognition and the privilege it brings. Throughout my career, it has been my mission to use my platform to showcase the beauty, strength, and diversity of our country—highlighting our people’s passion, resilience, joy, culture, and even the challenges we face. I do not take any of this for granted. As we strive for a better Nigeria, I will continue to do everything within my power to contribute positively to our nation.”
