According to reports, the failing Nollywood actor John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, is having health problems to the point where he finds it difficult to speak.
This is a month or so after he had his leg amputated in a last-ditch effort to preserve his life.
Since then, Vanguard reported, Mr. Ibu has had another surgery in which a section of the same leg that was severed last month was removed.
Concerns are growing because of Mr. Ibu’s failing health as well as the worsening state of Amaechi Muonagor, another seasoned actor.
Amaechi Muonagor has been hospitalized at Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital in Nnewi, Anambra State, for over two months.
Dr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), provided an update on the health of these ailing actors during a telephone conversation with the publication.
“We are resigning to fate concerning the two actors. As I speak with you, Mr Ibu hardly talks again and he has undergone another leg amputation,” he said.
