Early Years
On January 28, 1987, Adekunle Kosoko was born into the Kosoko Royal Family of Lagos State, Nigeria.
Adekunle Gold’s love and passion for music developed as he grew up listening to songs by King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey.
Therefore, he proceeded to make his ambitions a reality by creating his debut song, Sade, at the age of 15 in 2002.
Which was a cover of the song The Story Of My Life by One Direction.
Education
Adekunle Gold holds a Nigerian Higher National Diploma in Arts and Design from Lagos State Polytechnic.
Adekunle Gold began his career as a musician in 2010 and has since released three albums and numerous singles.
After composing his first song at the age of 15, he disbanded a band he formed with a classmate. In 2014, he embarked on a solo career.
After he skillfully modified and uploaded a photo of him cuddling Tiwa Savage, he became well-known on social media as the King of Photoshop.
On 19 December 2014, he released his first official single, Sade, which he wrote and sang.
Even though it was a rendition of One Direction’s The Story Of My Life, the song exploded in popularity and was nominated for Best Alternative Song at the 2015 Headies. It was an enormous success.
Then, on March 5, 2015, he joined the record company YBNL Nation and released the song Orente through the label.
He was nominated for the 2015 City People Entertainment Award for Most Promising Act of the Year.
On July 18, 2016, he revealed the album cover and track listing for his debut album, titled “Gold.”
The sixteen tunes on the album were produced by Masterkraft, Seyikeyz, Oscar, Pheelz, and others. It was released three days prior to its real release date, July 25, 2016.
It received numerous negative reviews from contemporary music critics but still debuted at number seven on the Billboard World Album Chart for the week of August 13, 2016.
This was due to the expiration of his contract with the record label YBNL Nation. This followed his exit from the label.
But he persevered and revealed his band, The 79th Element, in accordance with the atomic number of gold in the periodic table of elements.
Then, on January 15, 2018, Unity Bank revealed Adekunle Gold as their Brand Ambassador. And on August 21, 2020, he released another album, Afro Pop Vol. 1.

Awards and Nomination
Numerous honors and recognition have been bestowed upon Adekunle Gold on account of his musical career.
In 2016, he won the Headies Award for Best Song of the Year and Best Alternative Song, as well as the Nigerian Entertainment Award for Best New Act to Watch.
In 2016, he also won the Afrima Award for Revelation of Africa, the Beat of Lagos Award for Best Song, and the Nigerian Entertainment Award for Best New Act.
Personal Affairs
In January 2019, Adekunle Gold married Simi, who is also a singer, in an exclusive wedding. That is, only close relatives and friends were invited to the wedding.
Later, it was learned that they had been dating for five years prior to that time.
In May 2020, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Adejare Kosoko Deja.
In 2016, he disclosed that he purchased his first automobile, a 1999 Honda (Baby Boy), for $450,000 from a buddy who is also a car salesman, but that it was later wrecked by another friend who rode it and crashed it.
Thankfully, he was able to repair it and sell it for 400 thousand Nigerian naira.
Unfortunately, Adekunle Gold has been linked to infidelity allegations.
This was first reported by a prominent blogger, GistLover, on March 21, 2021. However, as all of this transpired, it was revealed that his wife, Simi, was aware of his infidelity.
