He is best known as a singer, songwriter, dancer, entertainer, stage performer, and recording artist who has been in the Nigerian entertainment industry for more than ten years. Mr. P, or Peter Okoye, is a Nigerian music star.
Mr. P was formerly a member of the musical duo P Square, which consisted of Peter and Paul Okoye, who are identical twin brothers (Rudeboy). After several fruitless attempts to break up, the group was finally split up in 2016.
Paul and Peter Okoye are twin brothers who started out singing and dancing together before Paul made the decision to stop dancing and focus more on singing. Peter, however, opted to carry out both.
Through Square Records, run by their older brother, Jude Engees, they produced and distributed their records.
It wasn’t until recently that they both separated due to internal family conflicts and split up their assets, which caused P-square to dissolve to the dismay of their followers.
They inked a record deal with Akon’s Konvict Muzik label while they were still dating.
P-Square is rumored to demand a staggering N8 million naira for each performance. Once upon a time, they were at the top of the list.
They received a number of honors and earned actual money. As the richest twins in Africa, Forbes listed them among the top 10 musicians in the world in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
They have other investments than singing and dancing during performances, but they keep those investments private.
When they were together, the two brothers reportedly had about seven cars between them, as well as mansions and even landed properties throughout the nation.
This made them the richest musicians in Nigeria before Peter Okoye, better known by his stage name Mr. P., came along.

Childhood

After completing his primary education, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) attended St. Murumba Secondary School, a small Catholic school in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
There, he earned his West African Senior Secondary School Certificate. Peter and Paul joined the school’s music and drama clubs while they were still in school, where they started singing, dancing, and imitating songs by MC Hammer, Bobby Brown, and Michael Jackson.
Later, they created the “MMMPP” a cappella group (M Clef a.k.a. Itemoh, Michael, Melvin, Peter, and Paul).
They started break dancing and created the group “Smooth Criminals” in 1997, taking Michael Jackson as their musical inspiration. m M Clef was removed from the group “MMMPP,” which was then renamed “MMPP.”
They quickly became well-known performers in the city of Jos, where they appeared at events like school festivities and other gatherings thanks to their creative ability and exact dance routine.
Peter and Paul went back to music school later in 1999 to hone their keyboard, drum, bass, and rhythm guitar techniques. The soundtracks for several movies, including Tobi, Mama Sunday, Moment of Bitterness, and Evas River, were composed by them.
Career
He recorded numerous albums with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, a.k.a. Rudeboy, under the name “P.Square” in Africa. International performers such as TI, Akon, Rick Ross, and Dave Scott were also a part of the previous duo, which has since broken up.
When it comes to awards, P Square can brag about having a shelf full of Headies, MTV Music Awards, and Channel O Music Video Awards, among others. However, when looking at awards separately, not as many have been tallied.
After their music career took off with songs like Last Nite, Get Squared, and Invasion, it wasn’t until recently that they both split up due to internal family disputes and divided their assets among themselves, which caused P-square to dissolve in 2016, to the dismay of their fans.
Peter Okoye’s career pace was undoubtedly slightly slowed by this abrupt adjustment, but he quickly recovered. After the dissolution of the Psquare music group, Peter Okoye made the decision to go solo.
He performs under the moniker “Mr. P.” He has so far produced a number of top-charting songs, such as Look into my eyes; one more night; for my head; and It’s too late, among others.
