After being suspended as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Friday, Femi Fani-Kayode, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed strong disapproval of Godwin Emefiele by uttering curses. President Bola Tinubu, through a statement by the Director of Information in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, called for Emefiele’s immediate removal from office.
Emefiele was instructed to hand over his responsibilities to Deputy Governor Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, who will act as the interim CBN Governor until investigations are concluded and financial sector reforms are implemented in the country’s economy.
In a mocking tone on Saturday, Fani-Kayode took to Twitter to criticize Emefiele for his recent monetary policies that had a detrimental impact on economic activities in the country. Fani-Kayode expressed his desire for Emefiele’s life to be filled with hardship, challenges, and suffering, hoping that divine intervention would bring about a change in Emefiele’s circumstances.
He emphasized the transient nature of earthly power and the belief that ultimate authority rests with God, serving as a cautionary tale for those who engage in wickedness and evil deeds, and a reminder that it is God who shapes the destinies of individuals and nations.
