Amidst the BBC article, an old clip of Nollywood actor Jim Iyke talking about his 2013 experience with Pastor TB Joshua’s church has surfaced.
Remember that famous video from years ago that went viral? It showed the actor going crazy at a church and stuttering incoherently while being restrained by men and having the pastor touch his hands?
Iyke, who has been open about the meeting, told Chude in an interview that he was in the chapel because of his mother.
The actor claimed that, in an attempt to help his mother heal, he did as advised and took her to church.
The actor said he followed advice to bring his ailing mother to church in hopes of recovery.
The young man continued, saying that they confined him in a suite while they urged him to come downstairs to attend the service.
Jim Iyke clarified that he eventually joined the service as a result of intense pressure from them, and he even laughed when the in-person preacher walked by him and went about his business.
He clarified that she didn’t want them to see him laughing, therefore his sister had advised him to control himself.
He continued by saying that after the pastor returned to him, he lost memory of what had transpired.
The actor said that although he denied being the one in the encounter videos, he was the one and that the world is deep.
