Profile
Name: | Destiny Etiko |
Born: | 12 August, 1989 |
State of origin: | Enugu State, Nigeria |
Nationality: | Nigerian |

Childhood and education
Etiko was born in Udi, a community located precisely in Enugu state, a southeastern region of Nigeria largely inhabited by the Igbo people.
Etiko attended primary and high school in Enugu State, where she earned both her Primary School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.
Etiko moved to the state of Anambra in order to enroll at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka in order to earn a university degree.
Etiko was admitted and finally graduated with a degree in Theater Arts after being accepted and being granted admission.
Career
Etiko explained in an interview with the Nigerian newspaper Vanguard that in 2011, after registering with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, she entered the Nigerian film industry known as Nollywood.
At the time, she was still a student and had to juggle her acting career with her academic obligations, which she described as a difficult experience.
Etiko’s career rose to notoriety after she appeared in Idemili, a film created by Ernest Obi in 2012 but not published until 2014.
Her performance in the film garnered her a nomination for a City People Entertainment Award.
Prior to her role in the film Idemili, Etiko had appeared in previous films, although they did not have important roles.
Personal Life
Etiko, who was born in Enugu state, continues to remain there and has done so for the duration of her acting career, contrary to what has been the norm in the Nigerian film business, which is to relocate to Lagos state in order to flourish as a creative.
Etiko stated in an interview that she has been subjected to sexual harassment by male movie producers, who constitute the vast majority of Nigerian film productions.
In 2019, Etiko gave her mother an apartment and congratulated her for supporting her desire to pursue a career as an actor.
Her father, on the other hand, had first violently opposed her decision to become an actor. In May of 2020, her father passed away.
Destiny Etiko is, without vagueness, one of the most compassionate and unselfish actresses in the Nigerian film business. Her compassion for the less fortunate has garnered her so much love and admiration from the masses.
Currently, the actress has established a non-profit organization in her name, whose primary mission is to ameliorate the wretched conditions of individuals living in poverty and misery.
Innumerable times, Destiny Etiko Foundation (DEF) has reached out to people in diverse locales in an effort to assist in any manner possible.
Destiny Etiko and her crew members have visited schools, widows, and impoverished people in the interior regions of Nigeria and blessed them with bags of rice, garri, and other products.
There is little doubt that such acts of kindness elicit a great deal of affection from others and blessings from God; it is little wonder that the proverb “one good turn deserves another” exists.
As a result, it is in her nature to lavish extravagant affection on the defenseless, who respond in whatever small way they can by repeatedly blowing her trumpet.
