Gifted Nigerian singer, Rema alongside the grammy award nominee African giant, Burna Boy has been nominated in the category of the BEST AFRICAN ACT in the 2020 MTV EMA Nominations.
This was revealed by the MTV on Tuesday’s evening, It can be recalled that Burna Boy won this same category in the 2019 edition of this prestigious MTV EMA.
This time around, he was once again nominated alongside Master KG, Kabza de small and Dj Maphorisa of south Africa, Sheebah of Uganda, Gaz Mawete of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rema of Nigeria.
The senior Vice President and General manager of ViacomCBS networks Africa making a statement, Monde Twala said;
“THE 2020 MTV EMAS IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST ENTERTAINMENT STAGES IN THE WORLD AND THIS YEAR’S AFRICAN NOMINEES ARE UNDOUBTEDLY MAKING THEIR PRESENCE FELT GLOBALLY.
THIS AFFIRMS OUR COMMITMENT TO ENSURING THAT WE CONTINUE TO CELEBRATE OUR DIVERSE TALENT ON INTERNATIONAL PLATFORMS. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR AFRICAN NOMINEES ON THIS ACHIEVEMENT.”
Burna Boy also reacted to this in a different post saying;
“A BIG THANK YOU TO MY MTV FAMILY FOR NOMINATING ME AGAIN FOR THIS AWARD AND TO MY FANS ALL OVER THE WORLD FOR LISTENING TO AND SUPPORTING MY MUSIC.“
