Mohbad’s father, Mr. Joseph Aloba, has explained why his late son was hastily buried. He stated that in Yoruba culture, when a young person dies and both parents are still alive, it is customary not to keep the corpse for a long time. If Mohbad had been older, they might have considered keeping his body in the mortuary for a longer period.
Mr. Aloba also mentioned that the land where his son was buried was the only land he knew Mohbad to own, as the singer had given him the land to build a church. Therefore, they decided to bury him there. This explanation comes in response to criticisms about the singer’s burial site being next to a cassava farm and unsuitable for a celebrity.
