Nigerian singer Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo, popularly known as KCEE, has finally responded to a video in which Asa, the renowned songstress, mocked him back in 2021.
To provide some context, Asa had previously lost to KCEE, who was part of the Hip Hop duo group Kc Presh, in the 2021 edition of the popular talent competition called ‘Star Quest,‘ organized by the drink company Star.
During a viral interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Asa playfully taunted KCEE and mentioned how he often likes to remind others that she lost to him in the competition.
Fast forward to May 2023, KCEE recently addressed Asa’s comments in a chat with Goldmyne TV.
The artist behind the hit song ‘Limpopo‘ expressed that he wishes Asa understood the message he conveyed, which may have been misinterpreted by her.
KCEE emphasized that despite his appreciation for Asa’s music, he remains unaffected by her opinion of him because it does not impact his financial success.
He stated, “I wish she had heard what I said; maybe someone misinterpreted it to her. If she had heard me, she would understand that she is an inspiration to many people. However, trust me, as you see me, I am a legendary artist. I have the right to say whatever I want to say. I still love her songs. Whether she loves or hates me, it doesn’t affect my financial success.”
