Daniel Lissing was born in Sydney, in the Australian state of New South Wales. His sister’s name is Tamara Lissing.
Jerry Lissing, his father, runs a Navy Canteen. Inge Christophers, his mother, works for the non-profit group Feros Care.

In 2006, as a guest star on the iconic Australian television series Home and Away, Daniel Lissing portrayed firefighter Dave Elder. In 2011, he joined the cast of Crownies as Conrad De Groot, the fiancé of Indiana Evans’ Tatum Novak, a lawyer, until the series finished the following year. Aiden was his character in the film Entwined, which he starred in the same year.
Daniel was cast as James King, a United States Navy petty officer and Navy SEAL, in the 2012 debut of the American television series Last Resort. In the series, he co-starred with renowned actors, including Andre Braugher, Scott Speedman, Autumn Reeser, and Daisy Betts.
In the same year, he joined the cast of The Cure as Ryan Earl, a member of the research team who, in his opinion, deserves greater attention and respect.
