Mi Gente is another beautiful track from the talented record producer, J Balvin, Willy William and Beyoncé.
Colombian singer J Balvin and French musician and producer Willy William collaborated on the song “Mi Gente,” which translates to “My People” in English. On June 30, 2017, Scorpio Music and Universal Music Latin published it.
It is a remake of Willy William’s original French song “Voodoo Song,” which gained popularity on Facebook in 2016 and was released a year later. On July 18, 2017, the song was sent to American contemporary hit radio.
On September 28, 2017, a remix featuring American singer Beyoncé was made available. Six additional “Mi Gente” remixes by J Balvin and Willy William featuring Steve Aoki, Alesso, Cedric Gervais, Dillon Francis, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Henry Fong were released on October 20, 2017.
The accompanying music video, which was directed by 36 Grados, debuted on Vevo the same day the track was released. The video was described as “an explosion of color and dance” by Leila Cobo of Billboard magazine.
It features people from all over the world and is all about bringing people together through music. The Italian millionaire Gianluca Vacchi is one of several cameos.
As of April 2022, the music video on YouTube had received over 3 billion views, ranking it as the thirty-first most popular video on the platform. The video was awarded an MTV VMA.
