Nigerian journalist, tycoon, and politician Dele Momodu has clarified the incident involving Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR.
Dispelling rumors surrounding their meeting at a function in Ondo State, Momodu shared a brief yet intriguing video. In the video, Governor Adeleke approaches the throne and chooses to greet other guests at the table rather than shaking hands with the Ooni of Ife when he extends his hand.
After watching the video, online users insisted that Adeleke ignored the Ooni.
Many people were embarrassed for the monarch as a result of the video, while others came together to support Adeleke’s actions.
Dele Momodu addressed the issue on Instagram after noticing the snub rumours were spreading like wildfire. He posted an extensive video that showed the close relationship that developed between the governor and the Ooni of Ife when Gov. Adeleke turned back to shake hands.
Dele Momodu shared the video and noted that it is customary for kings to avoid shaking hands with other people.
