Renowned stand-up comedian, Basketmouth, has decided to mend fences by extending an apology to his longtime colleague, AY Makun, after a 17-year-long feud. This move comes after AY Makun shed light on the origins of their rift earlier in 2023, making numerous attempts to reconnect with his former friend.
Taking to his Instagram page, Basketmouth issued an apology not only to the comedy industry as a whole but also to anyone he may have wronged, whether intentionally or inadvertently. He emphasized the need for forgiveness and acknowledged that his apology might be belated, but he hoped it would be accepted.
Basketmouth’s heartfelt message expressed, “To all those within and beyond the industry whom I have offended, be it knowingly or unknowingly, I genuinely offer my deepest apologies. For those who have accused me of actions that may have had a negative impact on their careers, I neither confirm nor deny these allegations, but I humbly request your forgiveness.”
Addressing his fellow comedian AY, he added, “As for my dear friend, AY, I’m uncertain if my apology is still relevant at this point, but if it is, please find it in your heart to forgive me for any past words or deeds that may have caused you harm. My sole desire is for your forgiveness.”
