Joshua, a gospel singer and son of the founder of Mount Zion Drama Ministry, Mike Bamiloye, has issued a warning to Christians regarding their attachment to certain forms of entertainment that may rival God in their hearts.
He specifically mentioned football addicts and movie enthusiasts, cautioning them that being engrossed in these activities to the point of neglecting their spiritual responsibilities is akin to the obsession some have with watching the Big Brother Naija reality show, which often includes scenes of immorality and lacks productive value.
Joshua emphasized that football fans should not be quick to criticize BBNaija viewers unless they themselves have skipped church fellowship due to an important match or have been preoccupied with checking live scores during religious services.
Taking to his Twitter account, Joshua asserted that anything that competes with God for our attention should be regarded in the same light. He acknowledged that a significant portion of today’s entertainment content is filled with immoral elements and lacks productivity.
In urging fellow Christians to prioritize God above all else, Joshua emphasized that this commitment will be evident in how they handle such entertainment content. He believes that placing God at the forefront will guide them in making wise decisions about what to watch and engage with, ultimately leading to a more spiritually enriched life.
