Big Brother has made a significant change to the eviction process in the Big Brother Naija house by scrapping the jury system, which was introduced four weeks into the show. This change comes after the introduction of the jury system in this year’s Big Brother Naija All Stars show, which aimed to allow the jury to decide on the eviction of one of the bottom two housemates.
However, this new system faced criticism and led to certain housemates, like Seyi, being saved multiple times due to the jury’s discretion. As a result, Big Brother has reverted to the old eviction rules, which involve evictions by popular vote from the viewers. Additionally, the “pardon me please” power has been replaced by the nomination of a housemate for eviction.
These changes mark a departure from the recent introduction of the jury system and a return to the more familiar eviction process based on viewer votes.
