Renowned filmmaker Elvis Chucks has added another accolade to his list of achievements by winning his third Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). His Netflix film “Jewel” was honored as the Best Movie in Southern Africa at the awards ceremony on May 20, 2023.
Competing against formidable nominees such as Emmanuel Mwape for “Silver Lining” and Leburugraphy for “Ke Bona Spoko,” Chucks‘ film stood out for its exceptional storytelling, compelling performances, and impactful cinematic experience.
Expressing his gratitude upon receiving the AMVCA award, Chucks remarked on the surreal feeling of being recognized for his creativity. He humbly acknowledged the organizers and his fans for acknowledging the hard work that went into “Jewel.” He also emphasized that this award serves as a motivation to continue pushing boundaries, conducting more research, and delivering the best work possible.
Chucks also shared exciting news about his upcoming projects. He revealed that a new series featuring renowned actor Richard Mofe Damijo (RMD) and other seasoned actors and actresses will soon be released on Netflix, promising his fans more captivating content to look forward to.

He has also been recognized with awards such as the Los Angeles Film Awards, International New York Film American Black Film Festival 2020, Nigerian Film Integrity Award (HOMEVIDA 2012), and Best Director Of The Year (5th City People Entertainment Awards-2014).
