Idowu Adeyemi, also known as Yhemolee, a popular actor and singer, expressed his deep concern over the recent hike in fuel prices and the worsening economic hardship in Nigeria. The pump price of fuel skyrocketed to N612 per litre, leading to significant challenges for both the rich and ordinary citizens.
In a video message shared on his Instagram page, Yhemolee highlighted the impact of the economic crisis, noting that even the wealthy are feeling the effects. He mentioned that foreign currencies like the British Pounds and the United States Dollars have gained significantly against the Nigerian Naira in the exchange market.
Yhemolee expressed his frustration at the situation, sharing his personal experience of spending a considerable amount on fuel for his vehicles. He stated that it cost him N52,000 to fill his Range Rover and N32,000 for his Chevrolet, and he needs to fill both vehicles twice a week. This amounts to a substantial monthly expense of N640,000 on fuel alone.
The actor/singer emphasized the severity of the current economic situation, as even those with means are grappling with the high cost of living and fuel prices.
