Georgina Rodriguez, the partner of Cristiano Ronaldo, has faced criticism after seemingly disrespecting Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro.
On June 17, the family gathered in Madrid to celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.’s birthday, with Georgina leading the event in Ronaldo’s absence due to his national team duties. Dolores Aveiro and her partner, Jose Andrade, traveled from Portugal but chose to stay at a luxury hotel instead of the family house.
Georgina shared several photos from the birthday party on her social media, noticeably excluding Dolores from any of them. However, Dolores later posted a video of the celebration on her Instagram account on June 22.
Commentators on the talk show Noite das Estrelas, aired on the network CMTV, criticized Georgina for remaining seated while Dolores stood. The commentators expressed their disapproval, suggesting that Georgina should have given up her seat or that the children should have done so.
The show’s commentator Maya commented, “What strikes me the most is that while Georgina is sitting with the children, Dolores Aveiro remains standing, far away. It doesn’t look pretty to me, this.” Another commentator, Daniel Nascimento, added, “What I’m saying is that it’s not Georgina who has to get up… It was those boys who had to get up.”
Maya further remarked, “If Georgina was a diligent daughter-in-law, Dolores would be in her rightful place! (…) It is a lack of respect!”
In addition, Leo Caeiro, a journalist from the Portuguese network CMTV, claimed that Dolores Aveiro was unable to spend much time with Cristiano Jr. on his 13th birthday due to Georgina’s decision to invite many of her own friends. Caeiro stated, “She barely saw her grandson. They were able to share moments on his birthday. Dolores was with all her grandchildren, but I must be honest: there is not a pretty relationship between them.”
