Prime Video has unveiled the first-look images from the highly anticipated second season of “The Wheel of Time,” a fantasy series based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling novels. The show follows Moiraine, a member of the powerful all-female organization Aes Sedai.
In the upcoming season, the young friends from the Two Rivers, now scattered across the world, face both familiar and new threats. Moiraine, who previously guided them, is now powerless to assist, forcing them to seek strength in each other, within themselves, and in the forces of Light or Dark.
Starring in the Prime Video original are Rosamund Pike, Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden, Marcus Rutherford, Dónal Finn, and Ceara Coveney. Season two introduces new cast members Maja Simonsen, Ragga Ragnars, Jay Duffy, and Rima Te Wiata.
“The Wheel of Time” was adapted for television by showrunner Rafe Judkins, who also serves as an executive producer. Rosamund Pike, along with Harriet McDougal, Brandon Sanderson, and Lauren Selig, is a co-executive producer. The series is a co-production between Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
Fans can mark their calendars as season two of “The Wheel of Time” is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on September 1, 2023.
