Mabel Makun, the wife of veteran comedian AY Makun, has criticized Nigerians for sharing distressing videos related to Mohbad’s family during their time of grief. These videos surfaced after the late talented singer was exhumed on Thursday.
Expressing her frustration, Mabel Makun pointed out that the actions of those sharing such videos are causing further distress to Mohbad’s family. She expressed exasperation with the state of the country, emphasizing that nothing ever seems to be done correctly.
In her own words, Mabel Makun wrote:
“Some individuals will not cease until they traumatize Mohbad’s close friends and family members. Why are you guys sharing a video of him being exhumed? I just watched a very clear video of it. Honestly, some people are not okay. Why didn’t they mark the area and prevent people from getting close during the exhumation? I feel drained and exhausted. Please, stop it.
I’m tired of this country; it seems nothing is ever done the right way, and our experiences are always different. Do you all expect his son to grow up, see all of this, and be okay? Let’s try to be civil at times. It’s disheartening to think that the government is involved, yet caution is being disregarded. How much does it cost to provide the necessary security and keep people at a distance as much as possible?”
Mabel Makun’s comments highlight the need for sensitivity and respect in such situations and underscore the frustration with lapses in handling sensitive matters in the country.
