Uriel Oputa, an evicted housemate from the BBNaija All Stars show, has openly discussed a significant health challenge she faced, which might impact her ability to have children in the future.
Uriel shared these deeply personal details during a recent conversation with media personality Hero Daniels.
The 35-year-old singer disclosed that she had experienced a four-year-long period during which she didn’t have her menstrual cycle. This condition, known as Amenorrhea, is characterized by the absence of menstruation in women during their reproductive years.
Uriel expressed that this period was one of the most difficult phases in her life. Medical professionals had informed her that the chances of conceiving a child were quite low due to her condition.
In her own words:
“Before I decided to embark on a health journey, I had health challenges. One of them was that I didn’t see my period for four years. And I remember going to the doctors in the UK, and they told me that there was a high possibility that I would never be able to have children. That time, my niece was two years old and I remember leaving the office thinking, ‘Oh! I will never be able to have a child.'”
Uriel went on to describe how she went into a state of depression due to this news, to the point where she couldn’t watch kids on TV or pass by schools and parks without being reminded of her condition. She expressed that she developed a strong bond with her niece during this period, viewing her as her own child.
Uriel’s openness about her struggles sheds light on the emotional and physical challenges that individuals face due to health conditions and their impact on family planning.
