Burna Boy, the Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, has expressed his belief that he doesn’t receive enough recognition, despite considering himself to be “the best in the world.”
During a conversation with industry experts, including show promoter Adesegun Adeosun Jr., known as Smade, and podcaster Adesope, also known as Shopsydoo, after his performance at the Afronation festival in Portugal, Burna Boy shared his perspective. He stated that he is not bothered by the lack of credit because even Jesus didn’t receive his due credit until after his death.
In a viral video, Smade can be heard praising Burna Boy and expressing that he doesn’t receive enough recognition. In response, Burna Boy humorously mentioned that he doesn’t get enough credit, comparing it to the situation faced by Jesus.
Shopsydoo added that the focus now is on global domination, emphasizing that it’s not just about Afrobeats anymore.
Burna Boy acknowledged that while he may not receive all the credit he believes he deserves, he appreciates the recognition from those who testify that he is the best musician in the world.
