I don’t know Burna Boy, he made video to get my attention – Speed Darlington

Speed Darlington, a controversial Nigerian rapper, recently claimed that he is not acquainted with Grammy award-winning singer Burna Boy. He referred to Burna Boy as an attention seeker, recalling a video the ‘Ye’ crooner made in the bathroom to catch his attention.

In a recent interview with Hip TV, Speed Darlington expressed his disinterest in collaborating with Burna Boy, as well as Wizkid and Davido. He asserted that he does not want to be associated with them, stating that he was already trending before they even knew him. Speed Darlington emphasized that he did not know Burna Boy initially and accused him of making a video specifically to gain his attention in the bathroom. He questioned who knew who in that situation, asserting his position.

The rapper mentioned that he became aware of the name Burna Boy only recently, around 2017 or 2018. He admitted that he eventually realized that Burna Boy had been putting in work for years, but the industry had not recognized him. Speed Darlington initially thought Burna Boy was an American artist and had no prior knowledge of him until the video caught his attention.
