Due to health issues, Afrobeat musician Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, has announced he will be taking a hiatus from performing.
Rema headlined an event at the well-liked O2 Arena on November 14th, giving a thrilling performance.
Riding a stationary horse, dressed in all-black, and performing his latest single, “DND,” Rema made a stunning debut when he took the stage in front of the sold-out 20,000 spectators at the storied arena.
He then transitioned into a poetic performance of “Iron Man,” accompanied by an electrifying exhibition of Indian dancers on either side of him.
The musician announced in a mournful tweet that he would not be playing anywhere in December after this enormous event.
Rema stated that he has ignored his health after years of touring and will be taking time out to recuperate until 2024.
In his words: “Breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing Anywhere this December, been years of touring I’ve ignored my health & I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again.❤️”
