Celebrity fashion stylist Toyin Lawani is addressing criticism surrounding her recent pepper-themed outfit worn on Christmas day.
The designer gained attention for her unconventional and imaginative choice, crafting a dress and cloak out of mop and pepper for a Christmas photoshoot.
In response to critics, Toyin Lawani explained that the outfit held a deeper meaning for her this year due to the challenges she faced.
She disclosed that the 1000 peppers and 70 mops used in creating her ensemble even got into a cut she had while making the dress, underscoring the personal effort and symbolism behind her unique Christmas attire.
Although she did her best, she acknowledged that the cape was heavier than she had anticipated and that she could not wear it for very long on her back.
Undoubtedly, her ensemble created commotion on the internet, with some commending her inventiveness and others criticizing her.
Toyin responded to the criticism by telling her critics to jump off a cliff as she is the King of Fashion.
In her words: “The name is King of Fashion. If you don’t like it, Go and jump off a cliff. Someone asked if it’s real pepper. If it’s not then what is this? Don’t worry I will show you my skin soon. The pepper was peppering. I know I make it look easy, But it’s hell, Fashion is pain.”
