The visuals for Logos Olori’s new single ‘Jaye Lo’, released under Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), has faced significant criticism, especially from Muslims who find the content offensive and disrespectful to their religion.
Following the release of the music video, DMW boss, Davido, shared a clip on Twitter featuring people praying and dancing in front of a mosque, urging fans to stream the song. However, this tweet received negative reactions from Muslim faithful who called for the video to be taken down and demanded an apology due to its perceived disrespect to the Islamic religion.
Several individuals, including former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad and social media influencer Daniel Regha, expressed their displeasure, stating that the mosque is a sacred place, and Muslims do not condone any act that goes against their faith. They urged Davido to respect people’s religion and cultures and apologize to the Muslim Ummah for the content of the video.
The release of the music video has sparked controversy and prompted calls for respect and sensitivity towards religious beliefs and practices.
