Nigerian-American singer Davido, also known as David Adeleke, recently shared that his American passport has made international travel easier for him. In a recent interview with Omega, he explained that when his band members face visa approval challenges, his American passport gives him an advantage.
Originally from Atlanta, Davido described the American passport as being invaluable, stating that it holds more value than a million dollars. Despite this, he expressed pride in his Nigerian nationality.
Davido also discussed how his background as an American-born artist only became widely known after he achieved success. He emphasized that he has always been connected to the Nigerian streets and culture, but having an American passport allowed him the freedom to travel to the United States whenever he desired.
He cited an example of the difficulties faced by his band members when trying to secure necessary paperwork for an Australian tour. The process was particularly challenging for them due to their passports, but Davido found it comparatively easier with his American passport.
