My mother attempted to abort me – Mercy Eke

Mercy Eke, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 4, recently shared a heart-wrenching revelation about her early life. During a candid conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she disclosed that her mother had considered getting rid of the pregnancy that resulted in her birth.

According to Mercy, one of her aunties had advised her mother to terminate the pregnancy since she already had five children to care for. The pressure from her aunt and the weight of having another child affected her mother’s mental health.

However, Mercy’s determination and resilience saved her life. Despite her mother’s attempts to remove the pregnancy, she clung on and refused to leave. Her strength and determination as an unborn child saved her from being aborted.
