Ruth Kadiri, a popular Nollywood actress, has criticized budding chef Damilola Adeparusi for embarking on a 120-hour cooking marathon in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State. This event comes shortly after Chef Hilda Baci’s cooking feat, which lasted over 100 hours.
Previously, it was reported on Chef Hilda’s attempt to break the Guinness World Records for the longest cooking hours, surpassing Indian chef Lata Tondon. However, Adeparusi’s photos and videos of her 33-hour cooking session have been circulating on social media.
This development has sparked various reactions, with many suggesting that Adeparusi should have waited until Hilda’s record is officially confirmed by Guinness World Records.
In response to the situation, Ruth Kadiri took to her Instagram page to express her disappointment, accusing the Ekiti-based chef of not allowing Hilda Baci to fully enjoy the achievement of her potential record-breaking feat.
The actress criticized the mentality of many Nigerians who tend to follow trends rather than think for themselves. She emphasized that people should be more independent in their actions rather than jumping on a bandwagon after someone else has done something noteworthy.
In her Instagram post, Ruth Kadiri wrote, “They won’t think for themselves, but the moment you do it… everyone starts realizing they can do it too. They can’t even wait for her euphoria to settle. Meet Nigerians, my people.”
