Renowned Nigerian comedian, Otaghware Otas Onodjayeke, known as Igosave, has expressed his belief that the fame of skit makers in the entertainment industry is short-lived compared to stand-up comedians.
During his appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, co-hosted by actor Nedu, Igosave stated that skit makers often experience a sudden surge in popularity, akin to a volcano erupting, but their presence tends to fade quickly.
He acknowledged that skit makers may initially gain widespread attention, but many of them eventually cool off and fade away. On the other hand, stand-up comedians tend to have a longer-lasting career, with many of them staying in the industry for years and continuing to entertain their audience.
Igosave pointed out that there have been numerous skit makers who enjoyed a brief moment of fame but were no longer heard of after a short period, contrasting with stand-up comedians who have a more enduring presence in the entertainment industry.
