The late American rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur, widely known as 2Pac, is set to be honored posthumously with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The announcement, made by the Walk of Fame on Wednesday, stated that Tupac will receive the star in the recording category.
Ana Martinez, the Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, described Tupac as a rapper, actor, activist, poet, and revolutionary. She emphasized that his influence has endured long after his passing and that he remains a significant cultural figure.
During the ceremony, Tupac’s sister, Sekyiwa Shakur, will accept the star on behalf of the family.
Tupac Shakur was tragically killed in 1996 as a result of gun violence. His musical achievements have been recognized with Diamond certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his projects “All Eyez on Me” and “Greatest Hits.”
