Nigerian movie director Charles Inojie expressed his deep sorrow and paid tribute to his late colleague, renowned comic actor Mr Ibu, in a recent interview with Channels TV. He described Mr Ibu’s passing as a significant loss that would be deeply felt by the Nigerian film industry.
Inojie highlighted Mr Ibu’s remarkable talent and unique presence, stating that simply casting him in a film could guarantee its success. He emphasized Mr Ibu’s irreplaceable impact on Nollywood, expressing the sentiment that the industry would be forever marked by his contributions.
He said: There’s sometimes you lose a person in an industry and you say, well, so or so the person would replace him. But Mr Ibu is irreplaceable. Mr Ibu spears with every part of his body.
He is probably one of the few people in Africa who would sit without saying anything would communicate a million messages with his facial expressions, body language and gestures without verbalising just one word of dramatic dialogue. That doesn’t come cheap. We are going to miss that.
“You have John [Okafor], you have a blockbuster”, Charles added.
