On Friday night, Nigerian music sensation Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first African artist to headline the renowned Glastonbury music festival in the United Kingdom. Wizkid took center stage at the festival’s “Other Side Stage” in Somerset, England.
Glastonbury, one of the largest music festivals in the UK, boasted an impressive attendance of over 210,000 enthusiastic fans. Wizkid treated the audience to a captivating performance, showcasing a medley of his popular hits such as “Essence,” “One Dance,” “Ojuelegba,” “Soco,” “True Love,” and more.
It is worth noting that Burna Boy, another Nigerian artist, also graced the prestigious Glastonbury Festival last year, although he did not headline the event.
