OluwatobiWande Ojosipe, born on October 18, 1985, is a pioneer of the Afrobeats genre and a household name in Nigeria. Professionally, he performs under the stage name Wande Coal.
His breakthrough came when he was signed to Mo Hit Records and released his single, Ololufe, which was included on a greatest hits CD by the label named Curriculum Vitae (CV).
Hit songs from his debut album, Mushin To Mo’Hits, such as “Bumper2Bumper” and “You Bad,” cemented the singer’s status in the industry.
Wanted, his second album, came out in 2015, and Realms, his third, will be released in 2020.

Early Life And Education
Wande Coal entered the world on the 18th of October, 1985, on Lagos Island, in the state of Lagos. His parents, Chief Ibukun Olufunto Ojosipe and Mrs. Omolara Oluwayemisi Ojosipe, gave birth to him. He was born and raised in Lagos State and is of the Yoruba ethnicity. Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe was the name his parents chose for him just days after he entered the world. Although he is the eldest of his siblings, he is actually the firstborn.
Both of his parents are Christians, and they instilled that faith in him. She is his sister, and her name is Towa Ojosipe. Wande Coal got his start in music when he was a teenager and realized he had a lovely voice. He decided to join the church choir so he could work on his singing skills with other people. He had just entered his teenage years. Wande Coal became interested in music because of what he learned in the choir.

Wande Coal’s major break came when he met the Mo Hit Records founders, Don Jazzy and D’Banj. In 2006, he was officially added to the roster of the record company. Others on his label included D’Prince, Kayswitch, Dr. SID, and Tiwa Savage. Due to his appearance on D’Banj Rundown/Funk You Up album, the world was exposed to the talents of young Wande Coal. Wande Coal had a significant hand in curating Solar Plexus, Mavin Records’ second compilation album. His songs Pretty Girls, Forever, and See Me Ri were all written and performed by him. The 2012 publication marked the beginning of the project’s D’banj and Don Jazzy, the label’s original co-founders, had a falling out in 2012, causing them to shut down the company. Wande Coal joined Don Jazzy’s new record company, Mavin Records, after hearing about it from the producer. Two more artists, D’Prince and DR. SID, have joined the label. Tiwa Savage, the label’s first female artist, quickly joined them.
The musician Wande Coal, however, decided to end his tenure at Mavin Records in 2013 and launch his own record label. As a result, Black Diamond Entertainment was established.
