In a statement issued by Prof. Pat Utomi’s Director of Media and Communications, Charles Odibo, it was made clear that Utomi has no affiliation with the alleged list of “new appointees and some new ministers” circulating on social media. The statement strongly refuted the claims, emphasizing that they are completely false.

Utomi’s team expressed concern over the recurrence of such false news, as this is the second instance in less than three months where Utomi has been wrongly linked with the new government. The statement clarified that Utomi, who has been abroad for over two months working on his new book, has had no discussions or indications of a governmental appointment.
The statement urged Nigerians to disregard the deceptive list associating Utomi with the new Federal Government. It also mentioned a previous instance in March when false information suggested that Utomi and Emir Sanusi were appointed to lead the planning for Nigeria’s growth and development. The statement highlighted the need to refute these baseless claims and stated that the creators of such fake news should not be given the satisfaction of a response.
