Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has addressed his absence from the list of awardees at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Despite his acclaimed acting prowess, particularly in the movie “King of Thieves,” Chatta was not nominated for the AMVCA, which raised concerns among his fans.
In response, Chatta shared his thoughts on a radio program that he later reposted on his Instagram page. He expressed that he was not bothered by not being nominated for the AMVCA because he understands that there are many talented actors competing for recognition, and only the best are chosen each year. However, he voiced his concern about not being invited to the event, which he perceived as a possible conspiracy against him.
Chatta explained that while not everyone can be nominated, he expected to be invited to the event. He mentioned seeing his younger colleagues, including newcomers to the industry, attending the AMVCA and showcasing their outfits, which made him wonder if his works were not considered worthy enough.
Despite the lack of recognition, Chatta emphasized that he would not let awards affect his craft. His ultimate goal is to win an Oscar before he passes away, and he is determined to focus on his work without getting weary or preoccupied with awards.
Chatta confidently stated that he believes he will receive an Oscar, maintaining a strong ambition to achieve this prestigious recognition in the film industry.
