The trial of popular Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti was delayed on Monday due to the absence of Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun.
The scheduled proceeding at the Yaba Magistrates’ Court had to be adjourned as the magistrate was on administrative leave and not present in court. In light of the magistrate’s absence, the registrar named Babalola decided to reschedule the case for September 27, 2023, to continue the proceedings.
Seun Kuti is facing charges of allegedly assaulting a police officer on May 13 on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos State. The State Police Command arraigned him on May 16, 2023.
