Shortly after the record label executive, Carter Efe, independently performed the song ‘Oyinmo,’ there are now claims of music hijacking from the emerging artist Young Duu.
In a recent incident, Carter Efe took the stage at a show and performed the newly released single, which he and Portable’s former signee, Young Duu, collaborated on. This performance has sparked reactions from both the audience at the show and online users.
Young Duu, feeling aggrieved, expressed his frustration over being excluded from the performance and lamented the treatment he received after being abandoned and ousted by his former boss, Portable. Accusing Carter Efe of exploiting his vulnerable situation, Young Duu claimed that he was being taken advantage of in the unfolding musical scenario.
Speaking on how his former boss, Portable abandoned and kicked him out, he accused Carter Efe of ripping him off and taking advantage of his situation.
“I’m the one who owned the song, I’ve been ripped; Someone else has taken over my song! Carter used industry brain to collect my song, going to show with my song. He is a comedian, not a singer. He doesn’t want to help me but always takes credit for those pulling the strings.
“I don’t want to expose everything. It’s not good; my boss did me bad and you want to do the same thing. You guys have family, the same way I came from someone else. So this was why you wanted me to drop an album for you,” he said in part.
