Hawwal Ogungbadero, a Nigerian actor and artist, has shared details about how he and 29 others achieved a new Guinness World Record for the longest recording marathon by multiple artists.
On June 25, 2023, Ogungbadero and his team at Black Stereo Music Group (BSMG) successfully set the record, lasting for 40 hours and 19 minutes. During a recent interview with TVC, the actor revealed that the idea first came to him in 2022.
Ogungbadero explained, “In 2022, I came up with the idea to attempt a Guinness World Record challenge. I wanted to organize a musical event that would involve numerous artists to break the record. As my focus is primarily on the artistic aspect of my career, I gathered artists in the studio to participate in the Guinness World Record attempt, which lasted for 40 hours and 19 minutes.”
He further mentioned the challenges they faced, particularly the lack of funding initially to fulfill the requirements for a Guinness World Record. However, through the support of blockchain companies, they were able to secure the necessary resources. Ogungbadero expressed gratitude for their assistance and proudly displayed the Guinness World Record certificate he obtained as a result.
