Renowned Nigerian gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, has emerged as the recipient of the Best International Act award at the 2023 Premier Gospel Awards held in the United Kingdom.
The prestigious event took place at the esteemed Cadogan Hall in Chelsea, London, on Friday, commemorating 50 years of gospel music in the UK.
Expressing her excitement about the accolade, Mercy humbly stated, “I am filled with gratitude and honor to receive this esteemed award. I want to express my thanks to God for His grace and to my fans, friends, and family who have been unwavering in their support throughout my journey. This award is not just for me; it is a testament to the power of music to touch hearts and transform lives.”
Mercy Chinwo took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to share a picture of the award, expressing her gratitude with the words, “GOD IS GOOD. Thanks for the honor @premiergospel. To everyone who voted, thank you, and may God bless you all.”
Among the other winners announced were Limoblaze, who received the Best Male Vocalist award, Annatoria, awarded as the Best Female Vocalist, Jireh for Best Song with Limoblaze, Manor Collective as Best Group, Choir of the Year for The Spirituals, Tofunmi Adorna as Best Newcomer, Triple O’s Everything Left Unsaid as Best Album, and Guvna B’s Bridgeland Road as Best Video.
