Renowned music executive and former husband of Tiwa Savage, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz, has made a plea to Nigerians not to cancel rapper Naira Marley. This appeal from Teebillz comes in the aftermath of widespread criticism aimed at Naira Marley regarding the tragic demise of his former signee, Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba.
Teebillz highlighted that Naira Marley had made significant investments in nurturing Mohbad’s talent before the unfortunate passing of the young artist. This was despite facing allegations of mistreatment and assault.
In a now-deleted post on his Instagram page, the talent manager called for forgiveness and understanding for Naira Marley, acknowledging that guilt by association is not necessarily a deliberate crime. Teebillz expressed his hope that people would extend forgiveness to Naira Marley for his perceived shortcomings and prayed that God would grant him a second chance to fulfill his role as a respected leader and influencer.
Teebillz wrote, “#Too young too talented to throw under the bus of cancel culture! One of the best writers of the new age! Guilty by association is not a deliberate crime to me……. I pray ppl forgive Naira Marley of his shortcomings, and I hope God gives him a 2nd chance to attain his blessings as a bonified leader and influencer! Just yesterday when everyone and their mama was a glorified Marlian…… Naira believed and invested in Imole’s talent when none of the after-death advocates of love did….!!! May our creator bless us where we lack knowledge and wisdom!”
